Well, I might be coming home sooner than I thought.

Today when we came to work, almost all of our
employees were reading the day's "New York Post", then
proceeding to FREAK THE HELL OUT.

The headline of todays Post is something along the
lines of "Ground Zero: Deadly Toxicity", or something
like that.

After calming our workers fears and starting back up
our electronics recovery, we get a little message from
the building security. They tell us that we have to
leave the building. NOW.

Whoever does the air quality testing (some government
agency) did a high quality air condition test, and
they apparently found a large amount of Asbestos and
PCB's...both of which we had no protection for. We
knew there was asbestos in the soot we were cleaning,
but we were told it was below dangerous levels...at
first.

We cannot return to work until Monday, and that's if
the asbestos level is down. And then even if we do
return to work, our contract for this building is set
for next Sunday. This is most likely the time I will
be returning.

A couple weeks run isnt to bad, but I did expect to be
here longer. Quite frankly though, I'm a tad worried.
I have been working in close proximity with these
"dangerous" dust particles for a few days now, and the
Post would now have me believe I might get lung cancer
in 30 or 40 years. I definatley dont think it's all
that bad, but I have been hocking up some awfully gray
sputum for a while.

I'll give everyone the lowdown when I know it....in
the meantime, I'll just enjoy my time off.
